Watercolors of Turkey
These three watercolors were painted while studying architecture in Turkey. The upper painting is of the rocky waterfront of Moda in Istanbul. The two other paintings are of places in the province of Mardin in eastern Turkey. Each original is approximately 8.5” x 5.5”.
Istanbul and Mardin Collages
Üsküdar, Istanbul
In the spring of 2009 I lived in Istanbul to study architecture for four months. Once a week our group of students would load onto public transportation or a rented mini-bus to be whisked off to a new part of Istanbul. The areas we visited were often impoverished but always full of character. These digital collages were made by using Photoshop to layer photos I took during class "field trips." The video was made by importing jpegs of my photos and collages into iMovie.
Saturday Morning
An old cereal box layered with a Saturday newspaper's crossword and comics section was used as the canvas for this work. The fruit was painted with acrylic paint on recycled cardboard.
Come back again because projects will be continually added.
